Lemon Wreath

You probably all know this but just in case one of you missed the memo .... I love yellow!
Though I have been leaning more towards aqua/teal lately my love for yellow is still strong.
Anyways, since I still love yellow and since its still technically summer I made a wreath that fits in both of those categories!

The Lemon Wreath!

I saw the idea on pinterest  {most wonderful place ever! if you don't know what it is look it up. it is awesome!} which then referred me to Ordy and Joon who helped me make it.

Isn't it beautiful!

It makes me smile every time I open the door.

I love buttons!

Every time I see a button I stop to think about how I can make it into a ring.
Here are some buttons that are soon to be rings.

These red ones have the coolest texture :)

Super excited for these yellow ones!

And of course there are all these {and more} lovely beads!

Have a great night!

RINGS!

I've been busy this summer making rings and I've decided to share them with you guys tonight!

This first ring is called the "Pearl Cluster'

I just love these rose rings!

As you all know I love birds. What could be more perfect then a 'Nest Ring'?!

I don't know what to call these last rings but they sure are cute!

They'll be on sale at the Promenade in Pleasant Grove, Ut. Whenever the Blue Fanfare aprons are on sale my rings will be there with them! They are only 5 dollars! :) Go check them out!

Ring around the Rosie

I found these adorable buttons at JoAnn's a few weeks ago that I thought would make great rings!

I just clipped off the backs so it didn't have the weird knobby button back,
twisted some wire around
and then super glued them together!
It's super easy and they turn out way cute :)

This is the light pink rose ring...

And this is the dark pink rose ring...

I LOVE my new rings!

Summer TO-DO List

Some things I'd like to get done this summer....

My backpack is dying and I don't feel like paying to buy one so....I'm going to make one!
Lets hope it turns out how I want. This is a pic of how I would like it to look, style wise.
Fabric and such: I still have no clue what I want to use.

I am also going to make a new wardrobe for me :)
I figure it will be a lot cheaper to make clothes instead of buying them.
I desperately need professional attire and such.
Here are some pictures of things I hope to make....
Found thanks to the most wonderful site ever! Pinterest!

If you have any patterns or know of somewhere that has
some that would be awesome!
Please let me know :)

Spring Wreath {tutorial}

Even though it's still cold and snowy here in Logan, I am in the mood for spring!
So I decided to make a spring wreath!
Best part is... it was less then 5 dollars!

Just in case you want to make one too I took pics along the way :)

Supplies needed:
Wreath {I got mine at the dollar store}
Felt Sheets {they're 25 cents at Michaels}
Glue Gun
Wooden Board
Paint
Scissors
Marker
Paint Brush
Ribbon

Here are the steps...

7. When gluing the flowers to the wreath, leave a gap big enough to fit your quote board on the wreath.
8. After you paint the board, write/paint the quote you wish to use on it.
9. Glue everything to the wreath.
10. Tie a ribbon to the top of the wreath and then you're done!

Ta-Da!

 I love it! What do you guys think?

I love lamp

I just wanted to share a craft that I just made with you guys!

Andrea {Jakes sister} just had her 12th birthday so we needed a gift to take down
on our next visit to Utah Valley.
I just found a base at D.I. and a shade at Ross for pretty cheap.

Her room has fun bright colors so I chose a fun blue that would go with everything.
I spray painted the base and then covered the shade with ruffles.

And here is the finished product!

It turned out pretty cute :)

I love it, what do you think?

I'm linking up to Tatertots and Jello, check it out!

another thing checked off the to-do list

This calendar has been a work in progress and.......

its finally done!!!

I finally made the month labels and the other set of the day labels during the break between semesters.

Wahoo!

I'm quite happy with how they turned out!
I didn't like how the photo calendars looked at the store so I made our own!
I like our pictures much better then the random nature or animal pictures that are in the store kind.
I did however use the actual calendar part from one that we got from our insurance place.
Its much easier then making your own month after month :)

After one month is done I'll just replace it with the month that comes after the month we are now in.
{hope that makes sense}
That way we can always see whats happening this month AND next!

{365}

I've decided to do something different for 2011.
There's a thing called the 365 Project. For the project you take a picture every day for a year. By doing this you document what you've done, seen, or whatever for that year. I thought this sounded pretty cool so on January First I started taking pictures. Now I'm definitely not a Professional Photographer so these pictures aren't meant to be amazing. Each picture I take will represent what I did that day, what I'm wearing, something I ate, what my surrounding look like, something I think is awesome, ect.
Here are the pictures I've taken for the first 7 days of the New Year.

Day One {January 1}
This is how I started out my new year.....with some medicine and a box of tissues.

Day Two {January 2}
 For some odd reason I've been in an organizing mood. I started out by organizing our Front Room Closet.
It may look a bit squished in there but at least its organized and you don't get bombarded with stuff when you open the door :)

Day Three {January 3}
 My yellow coat came in the mail!!!!! YAY!

Day Four {January 4}
 This is our beautiful Front Door.

Day Five {January 5}
 I made mini chocolate cakes for the both of us. They were delicious!

Day Six {January 6}
For our wedding one of the ladies in Jakes ward made us some cute knit hot pads. While I was cleaning out the Kitchen I found this heart one and decided to use it as part of our Valentine decor. I think it turned out pretty cute!

Day Seven {January 7}
I made this way cute Earring holder out of an Altoids mint tin!

DIY Earring Tin

I've been needing a place to store my earrings for awhile. Since we don't have extra money for crafts I decided to use some gift cards from our wedding and a mint tin.
It turned out really cute and was quite easy to make.
I've decided to share how to make it!
Lucky you!

Go buy some Altoids and when your done with the mints you can turn it into a cute tin!

 First paint the tin black {or whatever you want peaking through at the corners}
If you want a quick dry I found that hairdryers are quite amazing at getting the paint to dry nice and fast :)

Then trace the lid on the backside of the paper that you are using.

 Also cut strips to fit around the rim of the lid and the base of the tin.

Take the pieces you've cut out and glue them to tin.

After the glue has dried take some cute accessories and glue them on to your tin!

Now you have an adorable tin to hold things in!
