'Tis the season

Getting ready for spring in the middle of winter is like counting down christmas in the middle of October. I know it's coming but it's taking it's own sweet tome to get here. Working at a garden store isn't helping me either. As soon as customers start showing up to get the seeds for this years garden my brain starts scheming about how all the things I want to plant this year.
I don't know if I can wait for the ground to thaw before I start breaking ground in our little growing patch. The dirt seems to be calling my name and begging me to get my hands and knees all muddy.
Just to see who all reads this post, I want some suggestions on what to plant this year. If you read this post you MUST write a comment and give atleast one suggestion. two or three would be great too. Ill keep a detailed acount of all i plant and you can see how your suggestions turn out!

When a Prophet Speaks

For those of you who were able to go to or hear President Uchtdorf in the Relief Society session of Conference... We've Got Your Forget-Me-Not Seeds.

No I really didn't go or hear his talk but from all of the seed customers that have constantly been asking for forget-me-not flowers I'm pretty sure it was pretty moving.
I would say a few dozen or so people have asked us at Anderson's Seed and Garden when we will be getting in a new shipment of these seeds. the thing is we have never carried them. So what would any wise business do? Get some seeds! Of course we were all brainstorming on how else to monopolize on this situation and personally I think we should send President Uchtdorf a letter asking him to speak on how using Fertilizer is like faith. that may help us out after April conference.

When green thunbs turn wilted brown

My recent employment at Anderson's Seed and Garden has got me pretty excited about a few things. First there's all the Christmas decorations that I've been putting up for the last three months. Then there's all the seeds they will have in stock next year for a small garden. But mostly its for the cool and effortless plant I most recently bought. Its called a Paperwhite Narcissus!
You buy them as a little bulb about the size of a ping pong ball and you stick it in a glass bowl or pot about half way buried in dirt. I like having it in a glass bowl so you can see the roots as they spread out. I think the greatest part about the Paperwhite is that it grows so fast. Me and Kylee have watched it stretch at least an inch a day. It is supposed to get to 12 inches tall, with our dim apartment it has reached 13 inches already and the flowers are still a while away.
So even though its 30* outside I can still grow things(lets just hope it doesn't die on me). You've got to try it for yourself now. Go to D.I. get a $2.00 vase/bowl and fill it with soil and top it with colored marbles. Now just sit back and watch them go!

How to Choose a Life

It has come to my knowledge that this world doesn't look kindly on the indecisive at heart. This hasn't been just a sudden revelation. Actually I think it all began back in Junior High. I distinctly remember being handed a career catalog by my parents and being told i was free to go when i had decided on a career to work towards. I must have chosen something because i was back to playing the computer only hours later.
My first years in college have been great and my only goal was to my Associate's degree and get married. Kylee is quite lucky, having known exactly what she wanted to do since High School. But it turns out an Associate's doesn't mean a thing to the working class these days and in order to get into any classes at a University one must tell them exactly what you want as your job for the rest of your life, how much money you want to make, where you want to live, how many kids you will have, what your favorite color will be in twenty years, what brand of cereal you like... Some things are just impossible to predict. so what is an indecisive to do?
As a masterful procrastinator and proficient choice-avoider I pride myself on knowing how to beat the selective system and i think i have found the solution.
Every University has a Psychology Program. No one knows why, it's just part of the curriculum. The big secret is that psychology is a multipurpose discipline that can be applied in many fields of work and business. So... if one were to enroll in the psych major and promise to master in business or the sort, not only would they learn how to better work with people they would also postpone the actual career choice till much later! Bwa Ha Ha Ha!!!

The Thumb Twidler

The worst part about growing up is that you learn the true meaning of boredom. kids are bored for fifteen minutes and move on. Grown ups get bored for days at a time. It's not that I'm not doing things. I cook, wash the dishes, clean the house, and all of my chores. It's not about having things to do, Grown up boredom is from not progressing or being productive.
The only cure for this boredom is getting into a big project or getting a job. projects is the answer for those who own are already employed and are still bored. Getting a job I thought would cure this boredom for me but that turns out to be a full time job in and of itself. There is just something about not working Sundays that makes employers say "NO!" though i have no idea why.
I just got back from my second offer in three months and it doesn't look hopeful. In our advanced society it is now impossible to get a job without two years retail experience, being fluent in Windows Exel, and knowing the entire dealings and infrastructure of the company before even applying for the job.
As soon as I get a job then i can concentrate on being bored and looking for a project. Then again I can just put that off till retirement. For now I'd settle for a job. I promise I'll even keep up on my chores. speaking of which its time do do the laundry.
