Feeding two with 32 square feet

Since getting my new job at Anderson's Seed and Garden I have been so excited to start a garden. Living in an apartment usually means no planting space and no home grown produce. Luckily Kylee and I have a fun little strip of dirt in front of our door. With a plot that's four feet by 8 feet we may not get a smorgasbord of vegetables this summer but I'm still going to see how much greenery we can get out of it.
Yesterday i spent a few moments replacing logs and dirt into a nice looking arrangement for our garden. I even got to use our fun little shovel and cultivators to turn over the dirt. cute in'it?

Today it rained, quiet a bit. so there was no point trying to play in the mud. Instead I went to work (as a customer) and got the smallest amount of all the seeds we wanted to try this year. The coolest things that we are trying are a mix of multi-colored carrots and corn engineered here in our very own USU. Next time it's dry outside I'll be putting out some fertilizer and sowing the selection of seeds. Woohoo!

New look!

Because St. Patrick's Day is coming up I thought that it was time to change

I love lamp

I just wanted to share a craft that I just made with you guys!

Andrea {Jakes sister} just had her 12th birthday so we needed a gift to take down 

on our next visit to Utah Valley.

I just found a base at D.I. and a shade at Ross for pretty cheap.

Her room has fun bright colors so I chose a fun blue that would go with everything.

I spray painted the base and then covered the shade with ruffles.

And here is the finished product!

It turned out pretty cute :)

Preaching to the choir

I think one of the coolest ways to experience General Conference or even Stake Conference is from the choir seats. Kylee and I were "recruited" into the stake choir by the over zealous choir director and though our attendance was a bit... sporadic, we definitely enjoyed the great messages we heard today. The theme(yes a theme, i've never been to one of these that had a theme) was "the gathering of Israel" and even the Ogden, Utah mission president came to talk to us about how great missionary work is. As always i didn't really get anything out of the whole find some missionary references but they did talk about how important it is to gather Israel in our homes, with our families. I think that was very interesting and important.
We don't have our own Kids yet, but i thought about how Kylee and I have talked about raising our children in the church and teaching them how to be good members disciples of Christ. I decided it would be a good time to start typing out my Missionary journal for our kids to read. I know there are alot of great stories in there that even Kylee would love to read.
At the end of conference we sang the Mack Wilberg version of "I Believe in Christ" and it was surprising how great it sounded in the Logan Tabernacle. Despite minor discrepancies in the directing the song was a great ending to a wonderful conference.
